Students Against Genocide Everywhere (S.A.G.E.) is a nonprofit organization that is
dedicated to raising awareness of the horrific acts of genocide in the world
and helping the victims of such atrocious acts. We believe that students can
begin to make a difference in the world now. We don't have to wait until we
are adults, age does not matter. Just because we are teenagers, does not
mean we are not capable of great acts that can change the world.
I began this organization to become a part of something that was bigger then
myself. I wanted to make a difference in the world, and I am sure you do as
well. Students Against Genocide Everywhere offers an outlet to do more than
just watch the news and wonder "why?".
At this time, S.A.G.E. is working on three different projects. One is to
raise awareness of past and present genocides. Second, we raise money
to aid the victims of the genocide in Darfur. 400,000 men, women, and
children have already been systematically slaughtered in Sudan. We are
trying to get the money we raise to help the victims in the best way
possible.
The third project S.A.G.E. is working on is funding and building a school
for underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic. We are joining
forces with the DR-Schools Campaign, located in Massachusetts. Together, we
plan to build a school a year to provide food, clothes, medication, and
education to children who would normally not have such an opportunity.
